Mark Driscoll is the man
Shocker, three post in almost a week, who knew i would be so bored with school work that i would resort to trying to tell seven people about my life. Well, school is tedious, I think this online class is much like high school math. What i mean by this is that there is not a whole lot of important information coming through my brain, but my homework is tedious. I keep having to reexplain the same communication theory over and over again. Right now i am writing a paper and i am on page 6 and have not had an original idea since page two.
Okay rant over, now onto the real reason I decided to blog, and the second half of my last post. Pastor Mark Driscoll. Some people love him, some people hate him. I am the former. This guy has quickly become one of my top favorite bible teachers of all time. I decided to make a list of the reasons i like him
1. He teaches expositoryly
2. He yells at the men with Gods righteous anger
3. He is gentle when talking to the ladies
4. He really cares about his congregation
5. He does not sugarcoat sin
6. There are many many more
Well that is all i have to say about the matter. What do you think about him? Pro or Negative?

crazy little thing called love
Well it has been a few months since I have done a REAL update, so this will be a two part blog.
First, my life:
The reason I have not updated a whole lot is my life tends to be boring. I do have a new (well almost three months now) girlfriend. Her name is Kelsey and she is wonderful. I am guessing all of you know this already, but in case I get one person who does not know, there you go. We have been dating for almost 3 months now, and it has been wonderful.
I will tell you our story now, if it interests you. We meet about 5 months ago now, just a few weeks before christmas through some mutual friends. The first time we hung out, I do not think either of us were all that impressed with each other. I am not saying we did not like each other, but it was not a "I knew the first time i meet him/her" type of thing. However the next night, we all started to hang out again, and quickly people started leaving and it ended up being just me and Kelsey watching a movie and talking. That is when i took notice.
As some of you know, she is a tad younger, but i was impressed with her ability to converse and her maturity and levelheadedness. So we started to hang out more, and we quickly realized that we liked each other.
I knew at this point that we both liked each other, but i was not sure if we should date. So what I said to her was something along the lines of, "I like you, and want to make sure we should be together before we become official." So for about a month, we went on dates, hung out and prayed to seek the Lords will on our relationship.
Because of some random issues, after a month i was still not sure if we should be together, but i remember praying to God that he would just make it abundantly clear his will for us. This is how great God is at answering prayers, not only did he resolve the situation, with out my urging or asking of kelsey, during worhip on sunday,i was praying about it, and God just gave me this huge sense of ease about it all.
So that Wednesday Jan 7th, we went on another date, afterwards we drove down to pismo to walk on the pier a bit. While on the peir, i decided then was the time, so i asked her if she would officially become my girlfriend, then we found a bench and prayed about our relationship.
Three months later, we are doing well, especially these past few days. I am going to try and post some pictures of us, but i am not sure if i know how so sorry if they do not come our right.
Okay well I was going to Blog about something else, but i guess that will have to be another day,
Kevin

I have decided to have my first real post be a semiserious one. This blog will be a mixture of what is going in my life at any given time, and some things that I have started to realize about how the world works, oh and when I make a fool of myself. So it will mostly be the last one.
Something that I have been learning more and more about this past year is the supremacy of God. His sovereignty is unmatched and unrivaled. Society and even the church today have a habit of giving the devil more credit than what is due to him. We think of him as an equal to God. God is all that is good and loving and looks out for us, but the devil is all that is bad and evil and is always trying to get us. Why both statements are true, they are not a fair comparison. The simple fact is that the Devil is no eternal. He is a created being, just like you, just like me. He has to sit under the same constraints of that we do, meaning anything given or taken from him is directly effected by God. As weird as this may sound, the devil is just another created servant doing Gods will. Gods perfect will is that he would have all of his creations worshiping him, declaring His glory out of there own desire to do so. The bible declares that there will be a time when every tongue will confess the glory of God. The bible also declares that God will at a point take away his gift of salvation from the earth. Before people start calling me a heretic or anything like that let me explain. In revelation, the people who receive the mark of the beast or reject God enough, will have there heart hardened like pharaoh and not be able to receive the grace. So all there will be a lot of people who are declaring the name of God in vain, trying to save there own neck. The devil will be one of these creatures, alongside all of us, giving God his rightful Due.
“Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him…” Rev 20 1-3.
To me this is one of the best scripture to declare Gods ultimate power over the devil. In this passage we have described for us the defeat of Satan. Who is the person who conquers satan? An angel, God is so much more powerful than the devil, that he does not himself stoop to capturing him, he allows another created being the opportunity to do it. This is the greatest slap in the face of the devil I believe. Here he is, creating armies, deceiving nations, all in the hopes to defeat God, and take his throne. Jesus rides out in battle as described in Rev 19, but that can only be described as complete victory, with him simply speaking, the armies of the Beast are destroyed. The devil never had any footing, never had any chance.
Sorry if this was all confusing and what not, but I would like to know what you all thought about it!
